  Barcelona are set to take on ATLETICO MADRID  on Sunday in La Liga and face a team having to pick themselves up from a heartbreaking Champions League  defeat to  Real Madrid, Diego Simeone’s side were beaten in a shootout after Julian Alvarez saw his spot-kick controversially disallowed for a double touch. VAR intervened almost instantly to chalk the goal off, sparking plenty of debate about the rights and wrongs of the decision. Gavi’s been asked about the incident and had his say on what he thinks should have happened.  “ The referees are the ones who decide and they have that rule. Bayern Munich eye £50m bid for Brighton star Bart Verbruggen as Vincent Kompany eyes Manuel Neuer successor

Bayern Munich are looking to sign Brighton's Bart Verbruggen as they identify the Dutch goalkeeper as Manuel Neuer's long-term replacement.   Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is a long-time admirer of the Dutch goalkeeper and had worked with him at Anderlecht. The Belgian coach later tried to sign Verbruggen at Burnley in 2023, but Brighton eventually secured his services. The 22-year-old has been impressive between the sticks for the Seagulls and has played an important in the club fighting for a European slot in the 2024-25 campaign.
